Mr. Tadeusz Barucki – an architect, traveler, and unparalleled researcher of contemporary world architecture. Since the early 1960s, he has been a „Window to the World” for the Polish architectural community. He has undertaken numerous journeys to 114 countries, giving lectures at universities and architectural associations worldwide. He is the author of hundreds of articles and dozens of books, introducing Polish and Eastern Bloc architects to previously unknown global architecture – names, trends, and achievements. At the same time, he has been a true ambassador of knowledge about Poland and Central-Eastern Europe for architects and students in universities on all continents.<\/p>\n
On June 23, his ceremony took place. The event included, among other things, a screening of a fragment of a film by Jan Zuba, based on a meeting that took place at the architect’s home in Podkowa Le\u015bna in 2019. A eulogy presenting a perspective on our Master’s life, work, and activities was delivered by Prof. Magdalena \u017bmudzi\u0144ska-Nowak, the Head of the Institute of Architecture Documentation of the Silesian Library. The highlight of the event was Tadeusz Barucki’s lecture entitled „O – Continuity in Architecture.” The book entitled „Tadeusz Barucki: Architect – Traveler – Researcher,” published by the Silesian Library, was also presented. The entire event was enriched by music performed by Tomasz Spali\u0144ski.<\/p>\n
